- Reducing Examination Malpractice
- WAEC to be held responsible for exam malpractice.
The Deputy Education Minister, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has indicated that, government will not hesitate to hold the West African Examination Council (WAEC) responsible for any examination mal-practices, despite the council’s assurance of making sure this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination.
He said this on the backdrop of several examination mal-practices that has gone on in the pass. In the pass century or so, there has been constant leakage of examination questions, which is destroying the educational fabric.
The exams is expected to begin today, 13, June, 2016, with at least 461, 013 candidates are expected to sit this year’s BECE from 14, 267 public and private junior high schools all over the country.
The West African Examination Council has given government a firm assurance, to make sure that this year’s BECE is devoid of examination mal-practices.
