For those of us who must have seen their names in the various Universities and Polytechnics admission list for the 2015/2016 academic session, here are some documents you may be asked to present during clearance at the admission office. It is important you get these documents ready before the admission clearance for your school of choice begins.
- Local Government Identification: This is a means of identification from your local government. Usually costs about 2,500 or less, depending on your LGA.
- O’level Result: This can be Waec or Neco. It can also be either the original certificate, if you have it or a spreadsheet from your school.
- Jamb Original Result: Note that this is different from the printout. You can get the original Jamb Result from the Jamb website.
- Passports: I am not sure we can call this a document, but passports are very necessary, as many as sixteen might be needed.
- Birth Certificate: Your parents/guardians should have a copy of this. It should be neat and you might need to make as many photocopies as possible.
- Admission Letter: Your admission letter from the school is the one that usually says provisional admission on it, it is necessary for your clearance.
- Post-UTME Result: The Post-UTME result can easily be printed from your school website and it is quite necessary for clearance. Depends on the school however.
- Receipts: These receipts are your acceptance fee receipt, SUG receipt (depending on the school) and sometimes school fees receipt.
- Medical Report: A medical evaluation is usually carried out by the school and the report is required, when you are carrying out your clearance.
- Testimonial: This usually a testimonial from your secondary school. It usually comes with your statement of result.
