Job Summary

• The Lead Internal Auditor is responsible for overseeing the internal audit process within the organization, ensuring that financial operations and controls comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing audit plans, leading audit engagements, and providing recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of potential exposure and determine the scope of audits.
• Audit Execution: Lead audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring audits are completed in accordance with professional standards and timelines.
• Compliance: Ensure audits are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of internal auditors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality audit work.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management, and present these findings to senior leadership and the audit committee.
• Follow-Up: Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and conduct follow-up audits as necessary.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including management, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to continuously improve the internal audit function.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in internal auditing, with a significant portion in the finance industry. Experience in a leadership role is required.
• Certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant certifications.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools, and a deep understanding of financial regulations and standards.

Salary

• N400,000 – N700,000 monthly.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Office-based with regular travel to client sites, industry events, and other company locations.
• Hours: Full-time, with flexibility to work extended hours as necessary to meet business objectives.
