Job Title: Electric Overhead Traveling Crane Operator

Location: Ogijo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Operating a cab-controlled overhead crane and working around molten steel and slag.
• Safely operate the hot metal crane during operations and times of maintenance at the facility.
• Transporting hot metal for operations.
• Emptying ladles after processing, coordinating the operations with the entire melt shop team, and cross-training other team members in the hot metal crane operator position.
• Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards at all times.
• Track the functioning of the machine during process and off-process for any irregularities;
• Informing the Manager in charge of corrective action (filling logbook, records, and checklist).
• Advise management on whether the continued operation of equipment would be hazardous.

Requirements and skills

• BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related course
• Minimum of 5 years employment
• Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
