Role Overwiew

• Under the guidance and direct supervision of the PPO Border Management and Migration, the incumbent will assist in the development of strategies and programs related to the Migration.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal Programme Officer, Migration in implementing the ECOWAS Common Approach in Migration.
• Assist in implementing new policies on Migration.
• Assist in all matters relating to Migration.
• Analyse current migration issues and other related matters and advice the Principal Programme Officer, Migration, accordingly.
• Prepare reports and analytical papers on sensitive and important issues of concern to the Principal Programme Officer, Border Management and Migration; participate in the preparation of annual reports.
• Draft letters, background documents, speeches, and other correspondence for the Supervisor.
• Provide up-to-date information to the Supervisor, particularly on migration at national or regional level, and put forward recommendations on the measures to be taken.
• Develop plans and participate in implementation activities; and
• Perform any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Principal Programme Officer/Social Affairs.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences, Business, Administration, International Relations, International Diplomacy, Public Administration, Sociology, History, Law or Political Science from a university of recognized standing.
• Five (5) years’ work experience in Regional Integration.
• Demonstrated knowledge of West-African regional West African migrations and migration policies protocol on free movement, the Right of Residence and Establishment and boundary delineation and demarcation.
• Professional technical knowledge/expertise in collect and data analysis.
• Proven knowledge of information and public relations.

Age Limit:

• Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.

•  Identify, organize, and monitor tasks throughout to facilitate execution.
• Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others to set and meet deadlines.
• Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work within timelines, giving attention to details, stakeholders, indicators, and risks.
• Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.

Salary
USD77,480.72 – USD89,289.87 Annually.
